Harvest from the Hood – Press Release

PHILADELPHIA BREWING CO. PARTNERS WI TH GREENSGROW FARMS TO PRODUCE HARVEST FROM THE HOOD
PHILA., Pa – Philadelphia Brewing Co. is pleased to announce their partnership with Greensgrow Farms again this year to produce Harvest From The Hood – a wet-hopped ale. Both companies are dedicated to local sustainability so collaborating on this project made sense. Not only is Philadelphia Brewing Co. using the freshest ingredientspossible, they are also only traveling 5 blocks to get them! Using fresh hops grown at the brewery and at nearby Greensgrow Farms, Philadelphia Brewing Co. has created a delicious amber colored ale full of fresh hop aroma and flavor. The hops are harvested in the morning and put right into the brew in the afternoon. “ Using fresh ingredients really makes a big difference. You can just taste the freshness” says Matt Nienhuis, Philadelphia Brewing’s Pittsburgh Fleet Manager.

PBC has developed a “Select” series of beers from a number of draught only batches made over the past several years. Four of the single brew draught only beers were selected to become the first in a wave of 22 oz. bottle releases this fall and winter. The “Select” series includes Harvest From The Hood followed by Winter Wunder – a spiced ale for the holidays – then Shackamaximum – a seriously strong, dark stout – and finally Kilty Pleasure – a malty scotch ale. Harvest From The Hood along with all the “Select” beers will be available in 22 oz. bottles as well as on draught for a limitedtime in finer restaurants, taverns and retailers in the Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and New Jersey areas.
